Job description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the Cities and Places team in Dallas, Texas, focusing on building mechanical analysis and design for various projects. This role involves working on complex facilities from conceptualization to construction support, ensuring innovative solutions for clients worldwide. The engineer will collaborate closely with multi-discipline design teams and Senior Project Managers to deliver high-quality results. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Professional Engineering registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant professional experience for infrastructure and building-related design projects.
- Ability to perform as a lead mechanical engineer.
- Experience working in a multi-discipline team with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Construction support services experience.
- Experience with US building codes: IMC, UMC, ASHRAE 90.1/62.1/62.2, IPC, IBC.
- Valid driver's license.
- Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa to work for Jacobs in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Perform building mechanical analysis and design for a wide range of projects.
- Produce technical reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
- Support pipe sizing calculations, pump selection, piping systems, chemical systems, HVAC design, and hydraulic studies.
- Collaborate with clients, general contractors, and trade partners on project delivery strategies.
- Grow professionally through challenging projects and teamwork.
