The Senior Software Engineer for the API Platform at Bloomberg will lead the evolution of the Client Experience Portal, focusing on high-performance frontend development and API governance. This role is part of the API DevX team, which aims to enhance the developer experience by creating seamless, interactive tools for integrating with Bloomberg's financial data. The engineer will work with a diverse tech stack and be responsible for architecting critical components while advocating for user needs. The position requires a strong understanding of system design and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.

• 4+ years of professional experience with an object-oriented language, preferably Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience building and scaling consumer-facing web applications.
• A strong understanding of system design and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Architect and own critical components of the API Portal and the underlying DevX infrastructure.
• Build sandboxes, interactive documentation, and testing tools to enhance the client experience.
• Drive the full development lifecycle from gathering requirements to deploying globally distributed services.
• Provide code reviews and technical leadership within an Agile, multi-disciplinary team.
