Job description

The Wastewater Design Principal Engineer will join the Resilience Water team at Arcadis, focusing on water and wastewater treatment design and construction engineering activities. This role is critical for managing design teams, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting project performance across multiple offices. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to lead projects and engage with clients, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety requirements. The position emphasizes sustainable solutions to protect natural resources while addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field.
  • PE License in New Jersey and/or in other nearby states or ability to obtain NJ PE within 6 months.
  • 15+ years of industry-related experience is preferred.
  • Experience preparing plans and specifications conforming to Construction Specification Institute MasterFormat.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in client development activities and proposal efforts for water/wastewater design projects.
  • Develop project scopes and fee estimates in collaboration with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders.
  • Manage a range of projects including budgets, delivery schedules, and project teams to meet deliverables.
  • Create construction documents and specifications while overseeing construction administration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
