Job description
The Data Center Project Manager, Mechanical will oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical systems for data center construction projects at Apple. This role is part of the Global Design and Construction team, which is responsible for delivering critical data center projects. The position requires strong construction project management skills and hands-on mechanical oversight experience. The focus is on ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical systems while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience focused on hyperscale or large-scale colocation data center construction and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience managing the mechanical equipment procurement lifecycle including bid leveling and PO issuance.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing Commissioning (Cx) Plans and schedules for mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of data center cooling infrastructure including chilled water systems and associated piping.
Responsibilities
- Manage mission-critical data center construction projects and ensure successful delivery of all mechanical systems.
- Oversee the full mechanical equipment lifecycle from bid leveling through just-in-time delivery.
- Work closely with design partners, contractors, and internal operations teams to deliver data center facilities safely and on budget.
- Develop and execute commissioning checklists for mechanical and BMS controls systems.
- Coordinate TAB activities and ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes.
