Job description

The Data Center Project Manager, Mechanical will oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical systems for data center construction projects at Apple. This role is part of the Global Design and Construction team, which is responsible for delivering mission-critical data center projects. The position requires strong project management skills and hands-on mechanical oversight experience. The manager will work closely with design partners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience focused on hyperscale or large-scale colocation data center construction and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the mechanical equipment procurement lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing Commissioning (Cx) Plans.
  • Working knowledge of BMS controls systems and data center cooling infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and applicable mechanical codes.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 40-50% of the time.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mission-critical data center construction projects.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of all mechanical systems.
  • Drive project success from planning to closeout.
  • Coordinate with design partners, contractors, and internal operations teams.
  • Oversee the mechanical equipment lifecycle from bid leveling through delivery.
  • Develop and execute commissioning schedules and checklists.
  • Oversee and coordinate TAB activities and reporting.
  • Review and accept TAB submittals and final reports.
