The VP of Core Banking Transformation will lead the strategic migration of legacy core banking platforms to a modern, cloud-based ledger system. This role involves overseeing the entire migration lifecycle, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and minimizing operational risks. The leader will work closely with various stakeholders to define migration strategies and establish governance frameworks. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership in the financial services sector.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in core banking, specifically with FIS or Fiserv.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native ledger systems and distributed database technologies.
- Proven experience implementing data lineage tools and traceability frameworks in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency with Change Data Capture tools, ETL pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Define the overarching migration approach to minimize downtime and risk.
- Design and lead multiple mock migrations to validate technical processes and rollback procedures.
- Establish clear, measurable KPIs for each migration phase.
- Oversee the creation of complex data maps from legacy schemas to modern cloud data models.
- Implement a robust data lineage framework to ensure end-to-end traceability.
- Develop automated, real-time reconciliation engines to validate balances during the co-existence phase.
- Map and manage the integration requirements for all downstream systems.
- Oversee the engineering of a Core Abstraction API to route requests between legacy and modern systems.
- Establish a migration governance board to oversee architectural decisions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the new cloud ledger adheres to global banking regulations.
