Job description
The Special Projects Team at Rivian is focused on transforming ambitious concepts into tangible prototypes and vehicles. Based in Irvine, CA, this role emphasizes hands-on work, allowing team members to engage directly with the development of innovative electric vehicles. The team prioritizes agility and rapid problem-solving, fostering a collaborative environment with fabricators, machinists, and designers. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects, including retrofitting existing vehicles for special applications.
Requirements
- An understanding of LV and HV vehicle architecture for circuit and wiring design.
- Ability to design PCBs and integrate their functions into vehicle architectures.
- Experience with mechatronics systems such as powering and actuating motors for testing applications.
- Strong teamwork skills, the ability to collaborate, and a positive attitude.
- Bachelor's degree with an Engineering focus.
Responsibilities
- Design ground-up hardware for show cars and early prototypes.
- Program microcontrollers and write embedded software for electromechanical systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate ideas into reality.
- Maintain clean, actionable documentation for custom architectures.
