The Software Development Engineer position in the Spock Team focuses on optimizing inventory placement for Amazon's supply chain. This role involves working on advanced systems that manage inventory availability and balance across various fulfillment centers. The team aims to enhance customer delivery speed while minimizing fulfillment costs. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with analytics and operational research resources to improve global supply chain management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Experiment with various technologies to accomplish project goals
- Utilize Lean Software Development concepts such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
- Implement Test-Driven Development and Continuous Deployment practices
- Collaborate with Senior and Principal Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers to design a new platform for supply chain optimization
- Expand and optimize existing supply chain systems to support emerging business initiatives
- Automate third-party supply management systems to enhance inventory distribution across Amazon marketplaces
