Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of electrical systems for high-degree-of-freedom robotic platforms. This role involves collaborating with mechanical, controls, and software engineers to ensure reliable operation of complex electromechanical systems. The team at Frontier AI & Robotics is focused on advancing robotics through innovative models and systems. You will play a key role in developing sophisticated perception systems and manipulation strategies for real-world applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 6-10+ years of experience designing and integrating electrical systems in robotics or complex electromechanical platforms.
  • Proficient in PCB design using Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or similar tools.
  • Experience in embedded controls, high-speed differential signaling, and power electronics.
  • Hands-on experience testing and validating hardware using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Familiarity with high-speed data protocols such as CAN and EtherCAT.
  • Understanding of thermal design and safety considerations in high-power robotic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and integration of power distribution and embedded electronics for robotic systems.
  • Own the board layout of PCBAs and oversee their bring-up and validation.
  • Specify and design custom power electronics and power distribution boards.
  • Design and route all cabling and wire harnesses across the robotic platform.
  • Architect and integrate the robot’s battery system, including protection circuitry and battery management.
  • Define and implement wiring and electrical interfaces for various sensors and compute modules.
  • Own the prototyping and validation of electrical designs and create test rigs.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
