Job description

The Network Development Engineer role within the AWS GCNA Organization focuses on delivering sustainable solutions for next-generation IP networks. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers to ensure the stability and efficiency of AWS's global infrastructure. The team is responsible for managing internet traffic and maintaining high standards for safety and security. Engineers will engage in network operations, deployments, and optimizations while driving innovation across the network.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement changes on the network.
  • Work closely with automation teams to define scaling tools.
  • Lead network projects in sustaining engineering and deployment.
  • Provide critical network support to diagnose and resolve large-scale events.
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
  • Drive and support innovation across the network infrastructure.
  • Partner with the broader Network/Infrastructure organization.
  • Maintain compliance with networking standards and policies.
  • Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions.
  • Collaborate with escalation engineers on complex issues.
  • Create and review documentation regarding network implementations.
