Job description
The Hardware Test Engineering group at Apple is focused on developing technologies and methodologies for calibrating and testing cameras and sensors in Apple products. This role involves designing and implementing software tools for calibration algorithm developers and factory engineers. You will collaborate closely with system design leads and production teams to address software needs for factory test stations. The position requires extensive knowledge of camera technologies and a strong background in software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences.
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Extensive knowledge of camera technologies including image sensor operation and image processing.
- Expertise in camera and image quality measurement.
- Proficiency in Python for tool development and data analysis.
- Strong software design skills including data structures and algorithms.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Knowledge of computational imaging and sensor fusion.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing test environments.
- Strong background in data analysis and statistics.
- Proven experience designing AI-driven automated workflows.
- Experience using LLMs and autonomous agents.
- Hands-on experience developing custom skills for AI agents.
- Ability to identify solutions to systemic problems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement frameworks and software tools for calibration.
- Evaluate and extend existing algorithm implementations in C++ and/or Python.
- Collaborate with system design leads to understand software needs.
- Develop software solutions for hardware testing of Apple products.
- Support new metrology methods and measurement capabilities.
