The AWS Encryption at Rest team is seeking an experienced software developer with a passion for practical cryptography. This role focuses on building secure, user-friendly open source encryption tools and libraries to help customers protect their sensitive data. The team is dedicated to ensuring strong security controls for customers moving to the cloud. You will collaborate with senior leaders and security specialists to deliver cryptographic tools used by customers worldwide.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
- Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Knowledge of Linux fundamentals
- Experience with development in a distributed systems environment
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Rust, Python, Java, C, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Responsibilities
- Own the complete software development lifecycle, defining, prioritizing, designing, testing, and implementing new features for AWS Cryptography
- Architect and drive the end-to-end framework that enables internal teams to integrate seamlessly with encryption libraries
- Deliver foundational libraries for one of the most secure and reliable services in all of AWS
