Job description

The Network Development Engineer role at AWS focuses on delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions for next-generation IP networks. The position is part of the Global Connectivity and Network Availability Organization, which is responsible for optimizing internet traffic and ensuring efficient connectivity between data centers and customers. Engineers will collaborate with various teams to implement network changes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high standards of performance and security. Requirements

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement changes on the network.
  • Work closely with automation teams to define scaling tools.
  • Lead network projects in areas such as deployment and optimization.
  • Provide critical network support to diagnose and resolve large-scale networking events.
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
  • Drive innovation across the network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams for smooth roll-outs.
  • Maintain compliance with networking standards and policies.
  • Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures.
