Job description

The AI Frameworks team at Microsoft is focused on developing AI software that enables the execution of AI models across various platforms, including supercomputers and mobile devices. As a Software Engineer II or Senior Software Engineer for the Simulation Platform, you will design and implement an AI chip simulator and related tools. This role requires hands-on experience in all phases of software development, from concept to verification. A strong understanding of computer architecture and embedded programming is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C++, C, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a hardware simulator for next-generation AI chips.
  • Contribute technically to the design, implementation, verification, and documentation of code to ensure timely deliveries of simulator releases.
  • Collaborate with various partner teams, including hardware designers and AI model developers.
  • Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, and schedule deliverables.
