Job description

The Security Engineer in Offensive Security/Red Team at Google focuses on creating and maintaining a secure operating environment for users and developers. This role involves conducting realistic offensive security exercises to simulate attacks and improve detection and response capabilities. The engineer will work closely with software engineers to identify and fix security vulnerabilities. Additionally, they will document findings and present results to various audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
  • 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
  • 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of highly skilled hackers on Red Team exercises.
  • Build tools and infrastructure to support offensive security exercises.
  • Provide guidance on controls and improvements to enhance defense capabilities.
  • Document and present results to a variety of audiences, including technical engineers and leadership.
