Job description

The Principal AI Architect at Microsoft will define and drive the end-to-end Cloud + AI + Agentic architecture for tools and applications aimed at enhancing Customer Success and Consulting businesses. This role requires collaboration with engineering and product leadership to deliver secure and scalable AI systems. The position emphasizes technical leadership, architectural governance, and the establishment of a roadmap for AI solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and address real-world challenges through innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture with a proven track record of building and operating complex systems.
  • Proficient coding skills in C#, Python, JavaScript, and React.
  • Experience designing and shipping AI/ML GenAI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the reference architecture and technical roadmap for AI/Agentic platform capabilities.
  • Translate Customer Success business objectives into platform investments and architectural decisions.
  • Lead architecture/design reviews for major initiatives and drive alignment on system boundaries.
  • Embed Responsible AI principles into agentic solution design.
  • Drive architecture that improves reliability, observability, incident response readiness, and cost efficiency across AI-enabled services.
  • Build coalitions across broader Microsoft engineering/product groups to deliver complex initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and enhance architecture quality and engineering discipline.
