Job description

The Senior Manufacturing Product Engineer at Microsoft will play a crucial role in the Microsoft Devices Operations (MDO) organization, focusing on product quality and manufacturing execution. This position requires a deep understanding of product design and factory execution, leveraging engineering methods to meet operational objectives. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 5+ years experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 6+ years experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 8+ years experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development.
  • Experience in hardware product development and/or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem-solving and the ability to prioritize and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of product quality and manufacturing execution.
  • Establish deep technical understanding of design, test, assembly, and operation of specific products.
  • Identify program-level manufacturing and refurbishment risks during the NPI phase.
  • Drive fault isolation and failure analysis workstreams to determine causes.
  • Create and deliver product training to manufacturing partners.
  • Monitor quality metrics related to test yield, customer returns, and device refurbishment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate, validate, and implement ongoing improvements.
