Job description

The Uber Global Network Infrastructure team is seeking a network engineer with a passion for developing intelligent network infrastructures and integrating AI-driven decision-making. This role focuses on creating resilient, high-performance networks that support Uber's business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both on-prem and cloud networking, and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include designing and operating next-generation network solutions while ensuring network availability and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of network engineering and operational experience in production environments.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python or Go for network automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate all facets of next-generation network solutions, including cloud, transit, backbone, and on-prem networks.
  • Ensure network availability, performance, and future scalability through automation.
  • Collaborate with multiple Engineering and Business organizations to develop and implement network-based solutions.
  • Identify and work with stakeholders to drive new production designs and deployments for POP, backbone, transit, or Cloud networking.
  • Provide production on-prem and cloud networking support, including interconnects and VPC creation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams for projects, new functionality, or troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 global on-call rotation.
