Job description

The Senior Systems Engineer is a key technical leader within the Enterprise Collaboration Applications team, focusing on architecting, automating, and evolving critical enterprise platforms. This role emphasizes building scalable and secure platforms through automation and system integrations, enabling a shift-left operating model. The engineer will drive architecture decisions and automation strategies while ensuring operational excellence and business alignment. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain governance and compliance across platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience managing and engineering enterprise-critical SaaS platforms
  • Strong hands-on Python development experience
  • Experience working with REST APIs, OAuth, service accounts, and webhooks
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS governance, identity models, access lifecycle management, and security controls
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally with Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical owner and platform authority for enterprise collaboration applications.
  • Architect and develop Python-based automation for provisioning, governance, reporting, integrations, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement and maintain configuration-as-code and policy-as-code frameworks for application settings and controls.
  • Design scalable guardrails that enable delegated or federated administration while preserving enterprise governance.
  • Build and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, SDKs, and event-driven workflows.
  • Define and enforce enterprise standards, security controls, and operational best practices for collaboration platforms.
  • Own application roadmaps, feature evaluations, usage analytics, capacity planning, and lifecycle strategy.
  • Partner with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to embed regulatory and data-protection controls into platform design.
  • Lead large-scale migrations, consolidations, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Drive buy vs. build decisions, including evaluation of SaaS, third-party, and GenAI-enabled capabilities.
  • Establish observability, monitoring, and operational readiness frameworks.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and systemic remediation for platform issues.
  • Manage vendor relationships, roadmap alignment, escalations, and executive-level engagements.
  • Create and maintain architectural documentation, automation standards, and operational runbooks.
  • Mentor engineers and administrators in automation-first and platform engineering best practices.
