The Vice President of Software Engineering at Goldman Sachs Services LLC is responsible for developing and maintaining the firm's software solutions to support global business operations. This role involves designing high-quality technology solutions and working through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. The position also includes mentoring junior team members and identifying innovative technologies to enhance financial services. Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and three years of experience in a software engineering role, or a Bachelor's degree with five years of experience.
- Experience with C++ or Java.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
- Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within a Unix environment.
- Familiarity with programming technologies including Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Experience with relational database management systems such as Sybase or Oracle.
- Knowledge of micro-services architecture design and development including REST and Spring.
- Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, support, and maintain the firm's software solutions.
- Design and implement high-quality, scalable technology solutions.
- Own requirements gathering, user story refinement, development, testing, and deployment.
- Work with internal teams to develop solution designs.
- Identify new external technologies to transform financial businesses.
- Work in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle to meet requirements.
- Design and maintain robust testing suites for scalable solutions.
