Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their Alabama team, focusing on traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic operations and design. The role involves developing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, traffic system upgrades, and integrated corridor management policies. Candidates will engage in routine traffic engineering tasks, including data collection, analysis, and traffic design work. The position offers flexibility to work remotely or in-office, with a preference for candidates located in Southern California.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- U.S. Driver’s License
- Experience in Caltrans design standards, ITS design, Traffic Operations Studies, and Safety Studies
- Basic understanding of traffic analysis tools such as VISSIM, CORSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and analyses related to traffic operations and safety.
- Conduct traffic operational analysis using microscopic simulation software.
- Analyze traffic signal operation on arterials and networks.
- Prepare traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and markings designs, and ITS designs.
- Assist in developing ICM and ATM operations and maintenance policies.
