Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will join the Business & Industry Copilots group at Microsoft, focusing on delivering strategic solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related services. This role involves driving the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud services and enterprise data platforms. The engineer will collaborate across teams to tackle complex engineering challenges and mentor junior engineers. This position is crucial for shaping the future of Microsoft Dataverse, particularly in enabling AI experiences and autonomous workflows for enterprise customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Proven experience leading the design and development of cloud-based, distributed systems using Azure services.
  • Deep understanding of security, compliance, accessibility, and enterprise-scale engineering best practices.
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 7+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services and enterprise data platforms.
  • Drive technical direction for major features and enhancements within Dataverse Runtime services.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with principal engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Design and implement automation for deployment, monitoring, issue detection, diagnosis, and self-healing.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve systemic issues or architectural bottlenecks.
  • Oversee and participate in live-site operations, including incident response and preventive engineering.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, conduct technical reviews, and model best practices for code quality.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Microsoft Dataverse by architecting runtime capabilities and service patterns.
  • Drive cross-team initiatives, influence engineering standards, and support the adoption of new technologies.
