Job description

The role involves working as a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer within the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of server platforms. The team is responsible for creating innovative cooling and mechanical technologies to enhance large-scale server deployments. This position requires collaboration with various technology experts and a commitment to high standards in performance, quality, and cost. The work environment is fast-paced and emphasizes continuous improvement and integration of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and thermal systems.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects.
  • Experience in systems integration of complex server products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems.
  • Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives.
  • Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other hardware and software team members to develop optimized integrated solutions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems.
  • Manage interaction with overseas resources.
  • Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical and thermal design engineers.
