The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation technologies across North America. This position involves overseeing project planning, installation, and launch of robotic systems while collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing complex electro-mechanical systems. This travel-based role requires upwards of 75% travel to project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- 1+ years of engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment experience
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications
Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
- Lead teams of other engineers on projects and ensure alignment on program status
