Job description

The Healthcare AI organization at AWS is looking for a Software Development Engineer to create new services and enhance existing ones like HealthLake and Comprehend Medical. This role focuses on leveraging cloud computing and AI to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs. The team is dedicated to using innovative technology solutions to make a positive impact on people's lives. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment with product managers, applied scientists, and engineers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient software systems for healthcare AI services
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code for cloud-based healthcare applications
  • Collaborate with product managers, applied scientists, and other engineers to implement product features
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Help maintain operational excellence and compliance with industry standards
  • Work on data processing, analytics, and machine learning systems for healthcare applications
  • Contribute to technical discussions and help drive continuous improvement
