Job description

The Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) role on the MSK team focuses on designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems that support the MSK Control Plane. This position involves working closely with the infrastructure layer to manage compute across various environments, impacting how millions of customers run their containerized workloads. The SDE-2 will take ownership of significant features, drive technical design decisions, and enhance engineering excellence within the team. Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka is a rapidly growing service that provides real-time data infrastructure for diverse organizations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
