Job description
The role is for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the Nitro Firmware Team at EC2, focusing on the integration and updating of firmware for various components in the fleet. The team is dedicated to ensuring that software and firmware deployed to the EC2 fleet function at scale with minimal failures, enhancing customer experience. The ideal candidate will engage in hands-on software development, collaborating with engineers and designers to create robust mechanisms for firmware updates. Requirements
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 6+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- 3+ years of computer science fundamentals experience
- 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on software development including design reviews and implementation.
- Conduct code reviews and develop automated tests to ensure code quality.
- Collaborate with Principal engineers, silicon designers, and hardware engineers.
- Develop tools and processes to measure firmware performance and deployment.
- Ensure that firmware updates are integrated and functioning properly at scale.
