Job description
As a Systems Engineer in Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) Technology Deployment team, you will oversee the planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across North America's fulfillment network. This role requires strong technical skills in deploying robotic equipment and managing complex electro-mechanical and network systems. You will work closely with cross-functional partners and act as the lead on-site project manager. The position involves significant travel, upwards of 75%, to various project sites across North America.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field.
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, and SQL.
- 2+ years of site reliability engineering, systems engineering, or network administration experience.
- Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications.
Responsibilities
- Support and guide the installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at fulfillment centers.
- Develop detailed knowledge of robotic systems and guide their installation and troubleshooting.
- Manage technical ambiguity around the integration of work cells in fulfillment centers.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers.
- Travel to project sites and ensure alignment among business stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management.
- Work on continuous improvement activities to enhance project execution.
- Lead teams of engineers on various projects.
