Job description

As a Systems Engineer in Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team, you will oversee the deployment of industrial automation technologies across North America's fulfillment network. This role involves strong technical skills in deploying robotic equipment and managing large-scale project planning and execution. You will collaborate with various cross-functional partners to ensure successful installations and troubleshoot complex systems. The position requires significant travel, upwards of 75%, to project sites across North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in retail, warehouse, or manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, and SQL
  • 1+ year’s experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
  • Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
  • Develop detailed knowledge of robotic systems and guide their installation and troubleshooting
  • Manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers
  • Travel to project sites and ensure alignment on program status with stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
  • Work on continuous improvement activities to enhance project execution
  • Lead teams of engineers on various projects
  • Ensure safe, on-time, high-quality product delivery to internal customers
