  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to own parts of critical production systems.
  • Experience with LLM integration patterns including prompt engineering and function calling.
  • Proficiency in Swift and the ability to work with large, mature codebases.
  • Experience implementing REST APIs, ideally with code generation and OpenAPI.
  • Experience with GIS is a strong plus.
  • Experience with macOS or iOS application development.
  • Familiarity with service-oriented architectures, plugin systems, or platform engineering.
  • Understanding of data validation at scale including rules engines and quality assurance workflows.
  • Contributions to agent frameworks, developer tools, or internal productivity platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of intelligent agent systems within the macOS platform.
  • Shape the agent architecture and application interfaces.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate data sources into Apple Maps.
  • Work across the stack from spatial algorithms to API design.
  • Deliver incremental improvements to the codebase while maintaining long-term goals.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
