Job description
Apple is seeking a Component and MLB Quality Engineer to join their Component Quality Engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the quality of IC components, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and global suppliers. The engineer will leverage their expertise in electrical design, component quality, and failure analysis to drive quality initiatives. A strong background in manufacturing quality and consumer circuit design is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Operations and/or Quality Engineering.
- Solid understanding of components used in both digital and analog design.
- Strong experience with product reliability and/or qualification background.
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Knowledge of properties and processes used in microelectronics fabrication and PCBA assembly.
- Ability to craft and deliver presentations tailored to executive audiences.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and communicate clearly.
- Expectation to travel 30%.
Responsibilities
- Lead component quality from end-to-end during the life of various Apple products.
- Collaborate on quality initiatives across multiple organizations within Apple.
- Partner closely with multidisciplinary teams and global suppliers.
- Focus on IC components ranging from ASICs to passives and discrete.
- Perform process and quality audits at off-shore electronic manufacturing sites.
