Job description

This role is part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The team is responsible for ensuring that Apple products can efficiently handle complex tasks, ultimately enhancing user experience. The position involves both pre-silicon and post-silicon testing to identify and debug hardware issues. Candidates will work closely with designers and architects to meet validation goals and contribute to the development of next-generation Apple products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field with 10 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SoC and CPU architecture.
  • Experience with micro-architecture and memory hierarchy.
  • Understanding of interrupt and DMA, clock and power gating.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly language programming.
  • Expertise in embedded programming and hardware-software interfaces.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software debug tools and methods.
  • Experience with SoC bringup.

Responsibilities

  • Write directed and random tests for SoC and CPU.
  • Debug issues both pre-silicon and post-silicon.
  • Develop and maintain the system-level software platform.
  • Lead software development and execution plans for SoC projects.
  • Collaborate with designers and architects to achieve validation goals.
  • Engage with other teams at Apple to develop validation strategies based on product needs.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
