Job description
As a member of Apple's Interconnect team, you will contribute to the design and development of advanced interconnect technologies for the next generation of devices. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to create high-speed and high-power interconnects, as well as novel wireless interfaces. You will be responsible for balancing multiple program needs while driving innovative solutions in a dynamic environment. Your contributions will play a key role in redefining user experiences across Apple's product lineup.
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent; BSME or higher
- Analytical and problem solving skills as applied to mechanical engineering
- Fluency in 3D CAD software
- Ability to design cosmetic and structural plastic and metal components
- Experience in design for manufacturability and design for assembly
- Experience with statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- Experience presenting and communicating technical concepts, ideas, and solutions graphically
- The ability to travel internationally (20%+)
- Experience in detailed part and product design in consumer electronics
- Experience with connector design, liquid and dust ingress protection, corrosion, and/or signal integrity
- Experience with design for high-volume manufacturing
- Mandarin language skills
Responsibilities
- Conceive and design highly customized high-speed and high-power interconnects.
- Develop complete charging accessories for consumer use.
- Collaborate with various cross-functional teams including Industrial Design and Hardware Engineering.
- Manage multiple design tradeoffs and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.
- Drive appropriate resolutions to issues through effective communication and social skills.
