Job description

The Graphics team in Apple's Productivity Apps group is seeking an engineer to enhance user experiences across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS. This role focuses on building new graphics and drawing features for applications like Freeform, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to develop innovative interactions and visual capabilities. Additionally, they will work on architectural improvements and maintain a user-centric approach to delight customers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Swift or Objective-C
  • Proficiency in Python or another scripting language
  • Skilled with object-oriented design
  • Experience with Metal, CoreGraphics, or other 2D graphics environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Past experience building software for macOS
  • Experience working in large industrial code bases with large teams

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, human interface designers, marketing teams, and content producers to brainstorm, prototype, and ship new interactions and visual capabilities.
  • Architect and build new infrastructural components that encapsulate platform complexity.
  • Develop new interactions and visual capabilities that broaden users' capabilities.
  • Write easy-to-understand new code and work to fix existing bugs.
  • Keep customers' needs in mind while supporting their best work.
