Job description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the AV Labs Hardware team, you will be responsible for the mechanical structural design and system integration of critical vehicle subsystems. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and global manufacturing vendors to ensure the successful transition from proof-of-concept to mass production. You will focus on innovative solutions and validation strategies that enhance the reliability and safety of autonomous data collection vehicles. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of autonomous driving technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of industrial experience in product mechanical design.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD modeling such as Solidworks or CATIA.
  • Hands-on experience integrating complex mechanical structures and sensor systems.
  • Proven track record in full-cycle product development from Proof of Concept to Mass Production.

Responsibilities

  • Drive mechanical structural design projects as the end-to-end owner of a mechanical module.
  • Build and iterate on the integration of mechanical structures, enclosures, and thermal modules.
  • Execute mechanical component validation and testing by drafting comprehensive test plans.
  • Partner with local and global cross-functional teams and manufacturing vendors.
  • Create and maintain essential engineering documentation including BOMs and SOPs.
