Job description

As a Forward Deployed Engineer II in Generative AI at Google Cloud, you will act as an embedded builder, bridging the gap between AI products and production-grade solutions for customers. This role emphasizes hands-on development, requiring you to code, debug, and deploy bespoke AI solutions directly within client environments. You will work closely with customer engineering teams to ensure successful project outcomes and high user adoption. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development using Python or similar coding languages.
  • Experience taking production-grade AI-driven solutions from conception to launch for customers.
  • Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data using vector databases and RAG-like architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a developer for AI applications, transitioning from rapid prototypes to production-grade workflows.
  • Architect and code the integration between Google’s AI products and customer infrastructure.
  • Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks for agentic systems.
  • Identify field patterns and friction points in Google’s AI stack to create reusable modules.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams to instill Google-grade development best practices.
