Job description
The Structural Engineering Professional Associate will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing team, focusing on various projects related to heavy industrial facilities. This role involves performing structural engineering assignments and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and designers. The position offers opportunities for technical and professional growth while contributing to significant capital projects. The engineer will coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
- At least 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
- Knowledge of CAD software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, S3D, and MicroStation
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and other industry relevant design codes and standards
- Proficiency with MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination
- Ability for travel to various client’s sites (approx. 10% to 20% travel)
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of structural analysis and calculations for member designs and foundations.
- Create computer models for structures and assist with material take-offs for estimating.
- Prepare miscellaneous calculations and assist with project schedules.
- Liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery.
- Contribute to various size capital projects while expanding leadership roles within the organization.
