Job description

The Spectrum team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) to lead the design and delivery of AI experiences that enhance how Solution Providers interact with the Selling Partner API platform. This role focuses on rethinking workflows using AI agents that can reason, act, and learn, ultimately reducing friction for Solution Providers. The team is responsible for managing a high-volume API platform that supports millions of Amazon sellers globally. Candidates will have the opportunity to significantly impact systems, business, and customer experiences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture of agentic AI systems that operate across Spectrum's service mesh.
  • Leverage AI-DLC to build world-class experiences for Sellers and Solution Providers.
  • Design and build AI agent frameworks including tool-use orchestration and context retrieval.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of features from ambiguous problem statements through production launch.
  • Build intelligent automation for high-volume operational workflows.
  • Define metrics and evaluation frameworks for AI agent quality and build instrumentation to measure them.
  • Operate at Amazon scale and maintain high availability for platform infrastructure.
  • Influence technical direction through design documents and architecture reviews.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
