Job description
Apple is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services team. This role involves leading and executing large-scale network projects, focusing on enhancing Apple's Global Backbone and Internet peering infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep networking expertise and project management skills, driving efficiency through custom applications and automation tools. The position requires a strong commitment to customer experience and technical leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
- Minimum of 3 years in a project engineering or lead role on large-scale network deployments.
- In-depth experience with TCP/IP (v4 and v6), BGP, and MPLS technologies.
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
- Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks with knowledge of complex traffic engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with carrier-grade networking technologies and vendors, including Cisco, Juniper, and Arista.
- Proficiency in MacOS, Linux, or other UNIX variations.
- BS or equivalent education preferred.
- Advanced industry network certifications preferred.
- Fluent spoken and written English is a must.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute large-scale network projects from planning through deployment and handover.
- Develop custom applications and automation tools to streamline network provisioning and deployment processes.
- Drive efficiency and reduce deployment times in complex environments.
- Provide strong technical leadership and mentorship within the team.
