NVIDIA is seeking a Senior GPU Memory Architect to join their GPU memory architecture team, which focuses on developing innovative products for autonomous vehicles, AI, gaming, and mobile systems. The role involves solving complex problems while optimizing performance, area, complexity, and power on advanced silicon processes. The architect will work collaboratively with a dynamic team to enhance GPU memory systems and management. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking GPU architectures from specification through implementation.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A PhD with a focus in computer architecture is a plus.
- 6+ years of meaningful work experience in GPU or CPU architecture and development, specifically in memory caching and interconnects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and interns is a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop architecture and micro-architecture to improve GPU memory systems and memory management.
- Participate in performance simulation of features to enhance memory access efficiency.
- Implement and maintain high-level functional and performance models.
- Analyze benchmarks, application workloads, and performance simulation results for microarchitecture optimizations.
- Define and perform experiments to study the machine in action and present results to the larger group.
- Create architectural specifications and customer-facing documents.
- Work with industry partners to generate specifications considering software interfaces to the GPU.
- Debug performance and functional issues with high-level models, RTL simulation, and silicon.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
