Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a hands-on technical manager to lead the MD Simulation Engineering team, which focuses on building GPU-native simulation software for biological discovery. This role involves leading a team of engineers, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. The manager will also coordinate with internal and external partners and support team growth. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive innovation in the field of molecular dynamics simulation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing an engineering team.
  • Strong technical foundation in GPU computing and high-performance scientific software.
  • Experience shipping production GPU libraries or scientific computing software.
  • Familiarity with molecular dynamics simulation concepts.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computational Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, and develop software engineers within a collaborative unit.
  • Define vision, strategy, and roadmap for GPU-accelerated simulation software.
  • Own end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams and align partners.
  • Partner with Applied Science teams to translate research prototypes into production-quality software.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the molecular dynamics modeling community.
  • Drive engineering completion, including code quality and documentation standards.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
