Job description

This role involves contributing to the Sensitivity and Throughput Roadmap for KLA's Broadband Plasma and Rapid Divisions. The position requires collaboration with Research Scientists, Optics Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to develop R&D Inspection Benches for validating new inspection methods. These benches will be used to run inspections on customer wafers and reticles, influencing the adoption of new technologies. The focus is on precision mechanical design and optical alignment to meet critical inspection requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of precision mechanical design.
  • Hands-on experience is a MUST.
  • Curiosity is a MUST.
  • Experience with Pro/E and ANSYS are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Optical Systems is highly preferred.
  • Doctorate degree with no experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the fundamental physics behind new proposed inspection methods.
  • Collaborate with Optics Engineers to develop layouts and detailed designs for R&D Inspection Benches.
  • Perform optical alignment on the developed benches.
  • Drive the design of precision mechanisms and vibration control to meet inspection requirements.
  • Select key modules such as light sources, optics, sensors, and cameras.
  • Run actual inspections on customer wafers and reticles using the developed benches.
  • Communicate results and recommendations to Product teams and Marketing.
