·FY 2025Job description
The Senior Power Architecture & Optimization Engineer role at NVIDIA focuses on enhancing energy efficiency through advanced analytics and AI, particularly using large language models (LLMs) for power analysis. This position is critical for developing energy-efficient GPUs and SoCs as AI and graphics workloads grow. The engineer will leverage power architecture expertise alongside machine learning and data analytics to optimize energy consumption in designs. Collaboration with various teams is essential to drive improvements and innovations in power management.
Requirements
- MS or equivalent experience with 5 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience in EE, CE, CS, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of energy consumption, power estimation, data movement, and low-power design.
- Familiarity with Verilog and ASIC design principles, along with hands-on experience with relevant tools.
- Solid coding and automation skills, preferably in Python, Perl, and C++.
- Experience or strong interest in machine learning, reinforcement learning, and data analytics applied to EDA or architecture.
- Interest or experience in building and using LLMs or foundation models for engineering workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze full-chip and unit-level power using RTL and gate-level power tools to improve designs.
- Develop and productionize power-aware models and flows using ML/RL techniques.
- Design and train new LLMs to assist engineers in interpreting complex power data.
- Perform comparative power analysis across workloads and products to identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with Architects, Performance, Software, ASIC Design, and Physical Design teams to address power issues.
- Prototype and evaluate new architectural features in Verilog with a focus on power implications.
- Automate and scale flows using Python, Perl, or C++ to enhance power anomaly detection.
- Apply AI to build and deploy data-driven models for power-efficient configurations.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
