Job description

The AWS RAPP ADC team is seeking highly motivated engineers to implement and operate innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Government agencies. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations while leveraging cloud technologies. Engineers will work on large-scale distributed systems and automate service management. This position requires a strong understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud services, along with the ability to simplify complex problems for optimal customer experience.

Requirements

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems
  • Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services maintain a 100% uptime SLA.
  • Deploy software and troubleshoot software failures to minimize human involvement through automation.
  • Manage and monitor systems in air-gapped regions.
  • Build software-based solutions to improve system management and monitoring.
  • Identify and investigate systemic patterns in implementations that are not highly available or have defects.
  • Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
