Job description

The Module Reliability Engineer position is part of Apple's Hardware Display Module Reliability Group, focusing on ensuring the reliability of new technology displays. The role involves setting test specifications, driving equipment procurement, and executing stress testing to assess reliability. Engineers will analyze data and collaborate with design teams to address failure modes and implement corrective actions. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 3+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of the physics behind the mechanical and electrical properties of materials.
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions, up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Set test specifications and drive procurement and qualification of critical equipment.
  • Assess reliability by executing stress testing and analyzing resulting data.
  • Provide direction for failure analysis to understand root causes of failures.
  • Collaborate with design teams to determine corrective actions.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, including activities at third-party vendor sites.
