The Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer role at Google focuses on designing and evaluating data center systems within the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design principles, including production, sheet metal, castings, injection molding, structural analysis, and thermal analysis.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- Experience in designing electro-mechanical assemblies with an understanding of mechanical tolerances and tolerance stackup analysis.
- Knowledge of ASIC cooling solution stack-ups and their structural behavior.
Responsibilities
- Own and design products over the entire product design life cycle, including requirements gathering and detailed design.
- Ensure designs are sound, scalable, and meet engineering requirements through thorough analysis and validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges throughout the product development life-cycle.
- Influence future products by providing mechanical design expertise into the technology roadmap.
- Identify and scope projects around innovation opportunities and technology risks.
