Job description
The Research Engineer role in the AWS Agentic AI team focuses on developing tools that enhance the science experimentation and delivery process for a new Generative AI application called QuickSuite. The team seeks creative problem-solvers who can bridge the gap between science and engineering to expedite the transition of scientific concepts into production. Candidates will work collaboratively to build scalable frameworks and improve toolings necessary for applied scientists. This position offers the chance to be part of an innovative team shaping the future of AI in enterprise operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Define, design, and lead the development of tools that accelerate the science experimentation and delivery process.
- Design and guide the science team's implementation of proof of concepts to determine the ultimate science solution strategy.
- Build and improve toolings needed by applied scientists, including scalable science experiment frameworks and low-latency testing pipelines.
- Bridge the gap between science and engineering teams to expedite the transition of science to production.
