Job description

The SoC Performance Verification role at Apple is crucial for developing technology that powers Apple's devices. This position involves close collaboration with the Architecture team to understand and achieve performance goals. The role requires performing deep performance analysis and identifying bottlenecks to enhance overall performance. Candidates will work independently and lead efforts to align with project goals while supporting multi-functional engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
  • Sophisticated knowledge of CPU and SoC architecture/design
  • Familiarity with verification environments and programming in Verilog, C/C++
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and scripting in Perl/Python

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Architecture to understand performance goals of the design
  • Correlate RTL performance against model performance
  • Perform deep performance analysis in the design and report findings
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and coordinate with Design and Architecture teams to improve performance
  • Define performance statistics to aid in performance debugging and standard methodologies
