The Research Scientist role at Google focuses on advancing research in machine learning and artificial intelligence. As a Research Scientist, you will lead research agendas, design experiments, and develop new architectures to tackle complex software engineering tasks. You will also contribute to the research community by publishing findings and collaborating with academic institutions.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience leading a research agenda.
- Experience with modern ML frameworks such as JAX or PyTorch.
- Experience in one or more areas including agentic AI, reinforcement learning, or synthetic data generation.
- One or more scientific publication submissions for conferences or journals.
Responsibilities
- Define and pursue a long-term applied research agenda to overcome limitations of large language models.
- Design and implement novel agentic architectures for automated workflow optimization.
- Explore techniques for scalable memory and context management for reasoning over large codebases.
- Lead research into synthetic data generation and verification methods.
- Develop high-fidelity evaluation frameworks to measure agent impact on software quality.
