Job description
Rivian is seeking a candidate for a hybrid role focused on interior hardware and mechatronics validation. The position involves ensuring that interior systems and electromechanical components meet performance, durability, and safety targets across vehicle programs. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive testing and validation.
- Hands-on experience with environmental chambers, mechanical actuators, and custom validation fixtures.
- Strong experience with DAQ, instrumentation, and sensor integration for durability and functional validation.
- Proficient with CAN-based tools such as Vector CANalyzer/CANape.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
- Comfortable using MATLAB and/or Python for test data processing.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools like CATIA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain DVPs for interior and mechatronic subsystems.
- Plan and execute validation for interior hardware and mechatronic components.
- Coordinate with external test labs to schedule and execute tests.
- Create and review test procedures and setups to ensure safety and repeatability.
- Own test instrumentation and DAQ setup for data collection.
- Analyze data using tools like MATLAB and prepare decision-ready test reports.
- Incorporate lessons learned into DVPs and Rivian Testing Standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance scope, risk, and cost.
